At approx. 2pm on 6/23/10 the Hampton Emergency Squad(Sta.13) and North County EMS Partnership(BLS 2751) were dispatched to Eastern Concrete Company on Railroad Ave in Glen Gardner for a reported electrical accident involving a chemical tub that exploded and people injured. As BLS 2751 and Deputy 135 went responding, Glen Gardner Fire Dept(Sta.12) and Hunterdon Medical Center ALS(EMS 4) were dispatched due to a reported fire at the scene. Deputy 135 arrived within minutes and found 2 patients with injuries after a transformer they were working on exploded. BLS 2751 and Car 455 arrived shortly after and assisted in treating the patients. Crews determined the 2 patients were covered in an oily substance from the transformer, Hunterdon County Hazmat Team and Hampton Fire Co(Sta.13) were then requested to the scene for decon of the 2 patients. Clinton EMS (Sta.45) and Hampton EMS were each requested for an ambulance to the scene. Crews from 12 and 13 fire set up a decon area with tarps and booms and began the decon of the patients so further treatment could be continued and transport could begin to the hospital. All units were clear of the scene by 1530.
