HAMPTON, NJ Just after 1:00 p.m. yesterday (12/9/07) the Hampton Co. (Sta 13) and Hampton Emergency Squad (Sta 13) were dispatched to a reported single vehicle into a guardrail with injuries at the intersection of Rt.31 and River Rd in Hampton. Fire Chief 13 Butch Eick and EMT Lynn Nelson were first to arrive on scene, Followed shortly after by BLS-1351, Engine 1365 and Rescue 13. It was determined there was no entrapment, but 1 female passenger that was injured in the back seat of the car. C-spine precautions were utilized and the patient was removed from the vehicle and transported to Hunterdon Medical Center. Due to the heavy front end damage on the vehicle, 13 Fire utilized their Holmatro combi tool to open the hood to disconnect the battery. All units were clear of the scene and back at station before 2:00 p,m, This was the second accident at this intersection in two days, on Friday a serious four vehicle mva with rollover tied up morning traffic for about two hours.
