LEBANON, NJ - At approximately 4:00 p.m. on August 28, 2009, the Hampton Fire Company (Sta.13), Hampton Emergency Squad (Sta.13), Lebanon Township Fire Department (Sta.19) and the Hunterdon Medical Center MICU, along with local Police Department units were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident with rollover and possible entrapment on Route 31 near Rocky Run Road.
Upon arrival of the police department, it was determined to be a single car that struck a pole and tree and then overturned. One patient was heavily entrapped in the drivers seat.
The officer quickly requested Clinton Rescue Squad (Sta.45) for their heavy rescue truck to assist Hampton and Lebanon Township with extrication. Arriving units went to work stabilizing the vehicle and attempting to gain access to the patient. A MEDIVAC helicopter was requested to fly due to mechanism of injury. Crews quickly began extrication of the patient.
Once the roof and steering wheel were removed, the patient was extricated and transported to the landing zone, where he was then flown to a local trauma center. Crews remained on scene while the incident was cleaned up.
