GLEN GARDNER BORO, NJ - At approximately 6:46 p.m. on July 25, 2009 the Hampton Fire Co and Hampton Emergency Squad (Sta.13) along with Lebanon Township Fire Co (Sta.19) and Glen Gardner Fire Co (Sta.12) were dispatched into Glen Gardner Boro on Route 31 in the area of Cycle Pro Racing for a reported vehicle into a creek.
Upon arrival, units found a pickup truck down an embankment, in the creek, the driver had self extricated and was located outside the vehicle. The vehicle had extensive damage due to hitting four trees and overturning.
Crews quickly began treating the patient for her injuries. Once the assessment was complete, the patient was placed in a stokes basket and transfered up the embankment to the waiting Hampton ambulance. The patient was transported to a local hospital.
One ambulance from Hampton Emergency Squad along with fire units from Lebanon Township Fire Co stood by until the truck was removed from the creek and loaded onto the tow truck. Route 31 in both directs had heavy delays for about two hours while units operated on scene.
