At approx 0825 on 5/17/09, the Hampton Fire Co(Sta.13) and the Hampton Emergency Squad(Sta.13) were dispatched to Black Brook Rd at the intersection of Hillside Ter. for a reported MVA. Upon arrival of Deputy 13, command was established and incoming units were advised that there was a single SUV overturned in the roadway. The vehicle had struck 2 trees and a utility pole before rolling over and becoming entangled in the wires. The driver had self extricated upon arrival and was walking around. BLS 1351, Engine 1365, Engine 1363 and Rescue 1389 arrived shortly after. The patient was treated and transported to a local hospital by BLS 1351, while firefighters controlled a fluid spill. The road was closed for several hours while the tow company and the power company disentangled the wires from the vehicle. All Hampton units were back at station by 1000.
